MARK PARISH COUNCIL

May 2023

By the time of publication of this excellent Magazine the Coronation of King Charles should have taken place and the events arranged for our Village by excellent volunteers will hopefully have been a memorable success.  Many congratulations to all involved!

We are lucky enough to live in a wonderful Village which is reputedly the longest in the Country. Our location on the B3139 means that we do sometimes have significant problems caused by people dropping litter as they travel through Mark.

A recent article on the Mark Village Facebook page by Lizzie Power brought to attention the actions of her 9 and 11 year old Children who collected two big bags full of rubbish left by unthinking individuals. We are all grateful for what they did and somewhat embarrassed that such action is necessary. The Children deserve the highest praise and we on the Parish Council would want to highlight their contribution to our Community. Well Done!

The vagaries of the Weather at the moment mean that a litter pick for the whole of the Village is not possible until we can ensure a dry period to collect stuff safely. The Parish Council would like to help arrange such an event later in the Spring or early Summer.
