MARK PARISH COUNCIL

AUGUST 2023

Simon Emery has recently stepped down from his role as a member of Mark Parish Council after serving for a period in excess of 9 years. He has been an excellent member of this small group and has been active in the Community for many years before that. He will be sorely missed by his colleagues,  and we wish him well.

Vacancy
There is now a vacancy on the Council and we are keen to fill it. The duties are not onerous and we hold meetings every two months as standard.  Either I or the other Councillors will be able to discuss it with anyone interested.

Bonfires or rubbish clearing.
We are currently enjoying a typical British Summer with sunshine, showers, heavy wind or becalmed days making it difficult to judge when is the right time to hold a bonfire or clear other rubbish. An event at the Village Hall recently was marred by excess smoke from a bonfire nearby blowing straight into the building. This caused a great deal of discomfort to some of the participants at the event and in effect ruined their enjoyment.

It is politely asked that anyone intending to burn a substantial amount of rubbish etc please consider, as much as possible what could happen if the wind is heavy.

Danny Kehoe
Chair.
