MINUTES OF MARK PARISH COUNCIL

 

Tuesday 14th March 2017

 

 

A Meeting of Mark Parish Council was held in the Village Hall, Mark on Tuesday, 14th March 2017 at 8.30 p.m.

 

Present:- Councillor N. Van der Bijl (Chairman), Councillors Mrs E. Corkish, Mrs S. Flack, G. Francis, Mrs A. Hanlon and Mrs J. Weekes with the Clerk.

 

Apology for absence received from Councillor W. Human.

 

63. Declarations of Interest

 

Members had no interests to disclose.

 

64. Minutes

 

The Minutes of the Meetings of the Council held on 3rd January and 21st February 2017 were confirmed and signed by the Chairman as correct records.

 

65. Planning Portfolio

 

The following applications were considered:-

 

004 Erection of 9 holiday cottages, associated landscaping, parking and access and ancillary agricultural buildings, Rookery Farm Creamery, Northwick Road, Mark – Mr & Mrs C. Petheram –  recommend permission;

 

006 Retention of wall, widening of access and replacement gates, The Chestnuts, Poplar Lane, Mark – S. Gilbert

 – recommend permission;

 

66. Authorisation for Payment

 

The following payment was authorised -

67. Cemetery Sign

 

It was agreed to accept a quotation in the sum of £146.00 + VAT for the supply of a new sign for Mark Cemetery.

 

68. Highway Issues

 

Members received an update on the position regarding outstanding highway issues.

 

Further representations had been received regarding highway danger in the vicinity of the School during drop off/pick up times. It was agreed to request the School to reinforce road safety education to pupils and parents and to reconsider provision of wig wag lights should a financial contribution be forthcoming from the School.

 

Despite making enquiries, no response had been forthcoming from the County Council regarding repairs to the subsiding pavement opposite the White Horse Inn and little progress had been made regarding plans for the improvement of safety for pupils waiting for school transport opposite the Perry Lane junction.

 

 

 

 

The meeting closed at 8.55 p.m.
