ANNUAL PARISH MEETING -

8th MARCH 2016

 

 

 

PARISH OF MARK

 

The 2016 Mark Annual Parish Meeting was held in the Village Hall, Mark on Tuesday, 8th March 2016 at 7.30 p.m.

 

Present:- Councillors G. Francis (Vice-Chairman in the Chair), D. Champion, Mrs E. Corkish, Mrs S. Flack, Mrs A. Hanlon, W. Human, Mrs J. Weekes, District Councillor Mrs P. Costello, the Clerk and 12 members of the public.

 

Apology for absence received from Councillor N. Van der Bijl and County Councillor D. Huxtable.

 

1. Minutes

 

The Minutes of the 2015 Annual Parish Meeting were confirmed and signed by the Presiding Chairman as a correct record.

 

2. Avon & Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner

 

Sue Mountstephens gave a presentation on the role of Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner and outlined her achievements during her 3½ years in the post. Issues covered included finance, policing plans, five priorities, crime statistics, local community days, public forums and community safety grants.

 

Mrs Mountstephens answered questions raised by those present which included issues with the 101 telephone facility, a lack of visible policing in the Mark area, Community Speedwatch feedback, police speed enforcement, crime prevention and issues relating to major road traffic accidents.

 

Councillor Mrs Corkish thanked Mrs Mountstephens on behalf of the Meeting for her very interesting presentation.

 

3. Report of the County Councillor

 

The Meeting received a written report from County Councillor Huxtable on the work of the County Council during 2015/16, a copy of which is filed with the signed copy of these minutes.

 

4. Report of the Chairman

 

Councillor Francis presented a report prepared by the Chairman on the work of the Parish Council during 2015/16, a copy of which is also appended to the signed copy of these minutes. Councillor Mrs Weekes paid tribute to the work of the Chairman during the past year.

 

5. Questions from the Public

 

A question was raised relating to rubbish in the rhyne at Harp Road and it was noted that the matter had been reported to the Drainage Board for attention.

 

The Meeting closed at 8.55 p.m.
