PARISH OF MARK

 

 

The 2018 Mark Annual Parish Meeting was held in the Village Hall, Mark on Tuesday, 13th March 2018 at 7.30 p.m.

 

Present:- Councillor G. Francis (Vice Chairman in the Chair) Councillors Mrs E. Corkish, Mrs S. Flack, Mrs A. Hanlon, Mrs J. Horn, W. Human, Mrs J. Weekes, County Councillor D. Huxtable, the Clerk and 8 members of the public.

 

Apology for absence received from Councillor N. Van der Bijl (Chairman)

 

1. Minutes

 

The Minutes of the 2017 Annual Parish Meeting were confirmed and signed by the Presiding Chairman as a correct record.

 

2. Northwick Road Affordable Housing Project

 

Donna Johnson, Chief Executive, South Western Housing Society and Jo Rimmer, Housing Officer gave an update on the progress on the affordable housing scheme at Northwick Road and information on the allocation of the units.

 

The development had commenced at the end of September 2017 and it was anticipated that work would be complete by the end of August 2018.  The tenants were likely to move in to the 12 new properties during the early autumn. Details of the Eligibility Local Connection were submitted and a drop in session for people to discuss their eligibility and bid for a property would be held in the village Hall on 25th June from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.  Details would be posted on the village web-site.

 

The name Tuckers Close was supported by those present as the name for the new development.

 

Donna Johnson and Jo Rimmer answered questions raised by those present and the Chairman thanked them for their interesting presentation.

 

3. Report of the County Councillor

 

County Councillor Huxtable presented a report on highway and budgetary issues, a copy of which is appended to the signed copy of these minutes.

 

4. Report of the Chairman

 

The Presiding Chairman presented a report on the work of the Parish Council during 2017/18, a copy of which is appended to the signed copy of these minutes.  Councillor Mrs Weekes thanked Councillor Francis for taking the meeting and paid tribute to the work of the Chairman during the past year.

 

5. Questions from the Public

 

Questions were raised by the public on the need for urgent repairs to the railings opposite the White Horse Inn, the cutting of the banks of the Mark Yeo at Jubilee Green and Community Speedwatch.

 

 

The Meeting closed at 8.20 p.m.
