THE 2018/2019 PARISH MEETING WAS HELD ON TUESDAY 5th MARCH 2019
Guest Speaker - Mr. Adrian Gardner, Assistant Director, Environmental and Regulation, Sedgemoor District Council. Subject - FLY TIPPING
Mr. Gardner explained that Fly-tipping is essentially the illegaldumping of wase on public property. The District Council has responsibility for the removal of such deposits, the maintenance of statistics and the management of enforcement. Council collection teams deal with 100 incidents per month. Deposits on private land is the responsibility of the relevant landowner. Other agencies such as the Environment Agency and the Drainage Board are involved in clearing some fly-tipping deposits. Mr. Gardner outlined there will be changes to the opening hours of local recycling centres with effect from 1 April 2019, and there may be to kerbside collection changes with effect from 2020.
Axbridge and Cheddar Valley Sea Cadets
Mr. Baz Hamblin, Chairman, Unit Management Team, Axbridge and Cheddar Valley Sea Cadets, gave a presentation on the work of the unit and highlighted the value of the Unit to young people. Adults are being sought to help with administration.

PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY
Public Footpath AX 23/2 Thanks to assistance from the Rights of Way Department, Somerset County Council, this footpath is again open from yardwall, past the solar farm to entrance/exits on Southwick Road.
It was agreed that the missing third finger on the sign at the Little Moor Road junction would be inscribed "Glastonbury Tor" because the
feature can be seen from its location.

The next Parish Council meeting will be held at the Church Hall beginning at 6.30 pm on Tuesday 13th May 2019 (to be confirmed). (Please note the meeting is now to be held on Thursday 9th May at 6.30 pm in the Church Hall)
