Mark Community Land Trust
Affordable Housing Project
Mark Community Land Trust supported by Sedgemoor District Council and South Western Housing Society are bringing forward proposals to create a range of new affordable rented homes for local people.
The homes will be high quality, spacious and energy efficient. The proposed site at Northwick Road is one of the few areas of land in the village that is available and suitable for development
The preliminary design creates a mix of house types and building heights, from single storey to 2-storey maisonette flats.
Materials and colours will reflect the village character and local area, with simple stepped rooflines and village details such as clipped eaves and dark plinths below render.
The houses will meet current best practice for size and adaptability with generous private gardens and close parking for each home.
Design aim is to create modern homes that respect the traditional massing and materials of the village
The development proposes a mix of homes: including bungalows, smaller flats and 2 & 3 bed family homes. This will meet identified housing need in the village and will be made up of –
4 x 2 bedroom 4 person houses @ 79m2
2 x 3 bedroom 5 person houses @ 93m2
2 x 2 bedroom 4 person bungalows @ 70m2
