Weekly update number 13

dated 1st July 2016

We have made good progress on this scheme over the last few months and have managed to gain some significant time over the duration of the work which has brought our finishing date forward.

We are now in a position where we are confident that we will be finished on the road section with the road re-opened by 8 July next week.

Next week we will be reinstating the road where we have just completed the last section of work, reinstating verges (where required) and CCTV’ing the new sewer for our records.

Thank you all very much for your cooperation during this time.

Kind Regards

Andy

As our construction will now be to the east (Mark C of E School end) of Mark Causeway from now until the end of the scheme, I will no longer be issuing out a drawing indicating the direction of entry for Poplar Lane, as it will be from the west (M5 motorway end) until the end of February.

In addition, as our work on Mark Causeway  will be fairly similar week to week, I will now issue an email once a month to inform you of our work, unless there are any delays to our completion date. Our site team will liaise directly with residents affected by our work to discuss any alternative arrangements to property access.

We are still finalising arrangements with the landowner affected by our recent change in design for the Poplar Lane sewer diversion and cannot at this time provide firm dates for the Poplar Lane works, however we will be in contact with these residents once discussions have been completed.

Progress for January, 2016

Construction of manholes and sewer will continue along Mark Causeway to the east of Poplar Lane (note all works to the west of Poplar Lane (M5 motorway end) have now been completed).

We are still on track for completion of work on Mark Causeway by 29 February 2016.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and co operation during our essential flood alleviation work. If you have any further queries, please contact me on 0345 600 4 600 (Mon to Fri, 8am to 6pm) or on this email address.

Anticipated Progress for week commencing 4 January, 2016

On 4 January, the Mark Causeway Road Closure will be reinstated, including the temporary traffic signs.

Access to Poplar Lane will now swap to the west (M5 motorway end) of Mark Causeway as installation of the new gravity sewer and manholes continues eastwards along Mark Causeway.

Please access Poplar Lane from the west (M5 Motorway end) of Mark Causeway (please see attached drawing wc 4 Jan)

30th October 2015

Dear All,

We would like to start sending out progress reports to inform residents on where we will be working so that you will be able to better plan your journeys around our road closure, and also for those that are interested in the flood alleviation scheme we are constructing. Please feel free to forward this onto other people, or ask them to send me their email address to be included in this circulation. We can also offer an instant report summary via text message if you forward through your mobile phone number. If you do not wish to receive this email, please let me know and I will remove you from the list.

The reports will be issued daily until we start on the main sewer run to the east of Poplar Lane, as we will need to inform Poplar Lane residents on which side to access. Unfortunately due to the nature of the work, we are unable to provide more of a lookahead. However, once the construction to the east of Poplar Lane commences, the progress reports will be on a weekly basis as all access to Poplar Lane will be to the west during this time.

Progress for 30 October 2015

Wessex Water are completing trial holes to the east of Poplar Lane, which will verify existing services in the area of the new manhole to be piled. Please access Poplar Lane from the west (motorway end) of Mark Causeway (please see attached drawing 30 Oct)

Anticipated Progress for 2 November 2015

Piling will commence to the west of Poplar Lane. Please access Poplar Lane from the east (Mark C of E School end) of Mark Causeway (please see attached drawing 2 Nov)

Thank you for your ongoing patience and co operation during our essential flood alleviation work. If you have any further queries, please contact me on 0345 600 4 600 (Mon to Fri, 8am to 6pm) or on this email address.
